1. Our tutors are so confident that one day is adequate for our one Diploma courses, due to the small numbers they teach. If they or you feel you need to come back to repeat the course, you can do this free of charge.
2. Many other companies offering similar courses but have much larger classes thus it has to be taught over a longer period of time. You may be asked to come back a second day to go over what you have learnt as the tutor does not have time to get around the class due to the large numbers.
3. At Gateway we have much smaller classes so you get the personal attention required for effective one day training courses. Also our ten year reputation and the fact our courses are accredited with the professional bodies and are insurable will give you piece of mind. We teach thousands of therapists and beginners each year and many bookings are due to word of mouth and recommendations.
4. Why do other schools offer their courses over 2 days, sometimes it is a good way to get you to pay more but very often you will learn the same routines so what is the difference?
We send a you a free fantastic Anatomy and Physiology manual before you attend our courses, another reason why some training classes elsewhere are over 2 days this will be due to the fact the tutor will spend a lot of the time reading about the A & P on the day. We however feel you should not pay for this so we give you a free manual so you can to do this in your own time.
We are aware that you may already have achieved qualification in this subject based on the course you have booked to attend and its qualification criteria. If you have studied A & P some time ago you may find this helpful as a reference or refresher and if you are a beginner to massage or beauty you may also find our A & P manual of general interest.
Relevant anatomy and physiology will of course be covered on the day of all of our courses and you will also receive your excellent course manual when you attend which will cover everything you have learnt on the day.
Relevant Anatomy and Physiology will be covered in your course, however this information is purely for your own reference and not required reading material before you attend. We wanted to offer this to you as a free gift, we have put this together for all Gateway students instead of you needing to buy a book later on the subject.
It is not a requirement to read this before you attend however you may find some of this information interesting and useful, your tutor will be happy to go over any questions you may have on the day of your training.
5. Many courses also have training DVD's available, these go over the course you have learnt for an excellent visual back up helping you to remember easily the routines and vital information. Again no need to pay for a 2 day course when we have DVD's in place instead giving you all the help you need long after your course has finished.
At Gateway we guarantee that if the tutor does not feel you have picked up the routine safely and correctly they will not issue a certificate. However you are able to come back free of charge to repeat the course.

“ I have noticed some of your courses are just one day, can I learn all I need to in just one day?”
YES! Our philosophy is to keep classes small and give more attention to each student, thus cutting down on class hours. You will learn the same technique offered by other companies however we pride ourselves on one to one tuition in smaller classes.
You may see other companies offering similar courses over two or three days, the difference can be that they take much larger classes and need to be able to get around to all students. This takes them a longer time (due to the large numbers of students in the class) to make sure they are overseeing what the students are doing.
We often offer the same training techniques but as we only take very small numbers and thus are able to teach the course in one day.
We ask our students to fill out a feedback form after their training and often the comments are that they were suprised and pleased how much they learnt in one day. They tell us they would take another course with us due to the high standard we offer both with our tutors and the course material given on the day.
Sometimes students tell us they have learnt more on a one day course with us than on a 2 or 3 day course with another company due to the one to one tuition we offer.
Certificates are only given once students have demonstrated that they have absorbed the information presented during the day and after applying a satisfactory treatment observed by the tutor. To ensure that we act responsibly and carry out good practice, should the tutor feel that you would benefit from further training, certification may/will be held back.
You will offered the opportunity/be asked to attend the next available course that has a space, which is offered free of charge. This is rare but we would not be responsible if we sent out students, when the tutor felt they were unsafe in any way, as a day to learn a therapy is only a short time and the standard must be high enough to enable them to issue you with a certificate.
Our tutors are there to help, with small classes it is easy to absorb the techniques you are taught. There are no exams to sit for our 1 day courses only a practical assessment.
You will receive your diploma certificate on the day of training - apart from our Indian head massage course as this requires 3 case studies first (It will display Diploma Practitioners Certificate on it and does not have one day course on your certificate) and once you have practiced and feel confident you are able to take the therapy you have learnt out to the general public and charge for it as they are insurable courses.

It does not matter which venue you to choose to attend as all tutors teach the same courses and offer the same content. With all courses you attend with Gateway, each student will receive an excellent full manual, which covers the course material and all aspects you have learnt on the day. This makes it easy for you to remember the routine without having to make notes during the day allowing you to have a practical day learning this wonderful new therapy.
For our one day courses the therapy you learn is offered, to your clients for usually 30 - 60 min's, with regards to the price you charge this will depend on what area you live. If you work in Central London a 30 min massage can be as much as £45 and as little as £15 in more rural areas outside London. The advise we would give, is to check out how much therapists are offering a one hour massage in your area and half this cost when offering a therapy for 30 min's, to give you an approximate average and fair cost. The teacher will cover all your questions about your new therapy and setting up as a therapist if new.
