Deep Tissue Massage Training with Gateway Workshops
Deep Tissue is a form of massage that focuses on releasing the deeper myofascial restrictions of the deeper muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. Also sometimes referred to as myofascial release, it is used by many massage therapists, physical therapists and osteopaths.
It is a specific massage; adapting techniques to work below superficial connective tissue, with the aim to release old structural patterns and allow the free flow of nutrients and oxygen in the blood and so to the tissues themselves. Our Deep Tissue Massage course helps you to learn how to free trapped nerves, oxygenate poorly circulated areas and allows the spine and joints to relax into alignment. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.
This is a very popular course for existing therapists wishing to be able to offer deep tissue massage to their clients as this is the most requested therapy requested by the general public. The techniques you will learn will help your clients who suffer from back and shoulder pain which are two very common complaints.
Deep tissue massage also received a top ranking for fibromyalgia pain.
People often notice improved range of motion immediately after a deep tissue massage.
You will be able to use the techniques you learn for these complaints helping to cover your clients individual needs. Many people suffer from these issues resulting from bad posture, injuries like whiplash or too many hours driving or sitting at a desk. We have found that therapists love this course as it offers what they need to help heir clients with these neck, shoulder and back issues.
Learn a good understanding of how to observe posture, postural analysis. How to focus your stroke with the minimum effort, keeping you the therapist safe whilst working. Relevant after care and follow up advice/help for your clients.
